Below are some topics you should be familiar with to assist your IMC representative in estimating your duct cleaning service. Don't worry...if any of the below topics are questionable, we can fully assist you in understanding your air conveyance system.
REGISTER COUNT
The first question your IMC representative will ask is the number of registers or vents in your home. This simply is the TOTAL number of SUPPLY and RETURN vents located on your floor, wall or ceiling throughout your home.
CRAWL SPACE
If the home has a crawl space with ductwork in it, our technicians will have to go into the crawl space to clean. This will take some extra time.
ADDITIONAL UNIT
For each air handling unit (AHU), we need to make two connections to clean the air ducts attached, one for the supply vents and one for the returns.
SOOT, SMOKE CLEANING
If the home suffered a fire which resulted in soot throughout the air duct system.
SANITIZER
If the home has a serious microbiological problem (if water or other contaminants were in the system and caused fungus or mold growth.) The technician would need to confirm the need of the sanitizer - on site - if it was needed. Sanitizing is NOT a normal cleaning assistant for IMC - normally, contaminants are removed physically rather than chemically.
Once the above information has been assessed, your representative can give you the estimate to properly clean your air conveyance system.
