If you knew what our estimator Dave Gerhard knew, you wouldn't need us! As a founding member of the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA)—one of the "Dirty Dozen"—this 25-year industry veteran proudly looks back and claims, "We had 100 members within the first year. It was fun seeing the industry grow."

The son of a coal miner, Dave "went down into a mine" in high school and said "that is enough. I am going to college." He earned an Associate Degree from the Electronic Institute of Pittsburgh and continues to educate himself about indoor environmental issues. This certainly came in handy as a twelve year owner of a residential and commercial duct cleaning business in the 1980's.

Industry Leader
Years ago, Dave attended an air duct cleaning seminar and became keenly interested in indoor air quality. He instinctively knew it was, and still is, an issue of concern. "There were no articles on air duct cleaning relating to health issues back then. We've come full circle," explains Dave. With a strong ambition to succeed, Gerhard went on to lead the industry in improving indoor air quality.

Dave can take credit for a few industry "firsts." For example, he:
1. Organized the first NADCA convention.
2. Wrote the first technical training manuals on air duct cleaning.

Developed and Designed Equipment
Getting "down and dirty," Gerhard found "there was so much junk out there" and developed and designed air duct cleaning equipment and trained more than 2,500 technicians. Dave states "I like being involved with the projects and I want to do the best for our customers."

His extensive experience has included sales, estimating, and project management for air duct cleaning, mold remediation and fire/water damage restoration.

"Have Fun in Your Job"
The western Pennsylvania native advises his coworkers and children (two boys and a girl) to strive to be good at what you do, and to "have fun in your job!" He certainly had fun coaching his kids' baseball and soccer teams, and helping his boys earn Eagle Scout status. Today he also he delights in spoiling his first grandchild.

Recently, Dave took up fly-fishing and enjoys watching football games. In fact, he admires his Dad's favorite quarterback, Terry Bradshaw, "for what he did." With his infectious positive attitude, Gerhard continues to reel in customers, compliments, and our staff's respect.
